11 best idol actors in 2020
Not all idols who want to act get the chance to do so, nor are they always good. And that’s perfectly fine because they can already sing, dance, and rap. It almost wouldn’t be fair if they were talented at acting too! But in the past year there were quite a number of idol actors who really gave everything in their respective roles and showed that they are all-rounders. Here are 12 idol actors (in no particular order) who gave appearances that can be considered the best of the year.

WINNER’s Kang Seung Yoon made his debut drama on the sitcom High Kick 3, but it wasn’t until Jean Valjean was featured on Prison Playbook that he was hailed for his acting technique. This year Kang Seung Yoon was able to show his art again by playing In Gun Wook in “Kairos. “In this particular role, viewers were pleasantly surprised to see how Kang Seung Yoon really showed off the desperation and baggage his character had to carry all his life. Kang Seung Yoon takes on some challenging roles and proves himself a capable actor!

While Jinyoung is known as the adorable singer in Got7, he first made his actor debut in “Dream to the power of 2And appeared in various dramas over the years while he was active as an idol. Over the past year he has had the privilege of working with seasoned actors Yoo ji tae and Lee Bo Young in romance “When my love blooms. “I played Han Jae Hyun, the younger version of Yoo Ji Tae’s character.
The best thing about Jinyoung in this role was his gentle looks and romantic expression as well as his intense personality, which made his acting so versatile and entertaining. Jinyoung has proven that with every role he takes on, he is not only a talented idol but also an accomplished actor.

Krystal starred in the OCN military drama “search“And her role as Son Ye Rim really stepped her out of the traditional roles she’d taken on in the past. Son Ye Rim is strong, defiant, intelligent, and not afraid to kick the ass, which Krystal is in Represents series perfectly.
She also starred in the heartwarming movie More Than Family as a university student who unexpectedly becomes pregnant. It is a heartwarming, funny and humorous story about love and dealing with life when it gives you lemons. The characters she picked up that year were so dynamic that she earned a spot as one of the best idol actresses of the year.

4. Yook sungjae
Last year, Yook Sungjae was featured in JTBC’s “Mystic Pop-Up Bar” as the innocent and sensitive Han Kang Bae, who has the ability to see dead people. I played alongside Hwang Jung Eum and Choi won youngand although he appeared alongside well-known actors, he was able to assert himself and shine in his role.
Yook Sungjae has a knack for being his characters and is consistently praised for his effortless acting skills. He joined the military just before this series premiered, but we look forward to seeing what project he’ll take on if he’s fired!
Seohyun of Girls’ Generation has a solid list of K-dramas she starred in throughout her career as a K-pop idol and actress. Last year she starred on JTBC’s “Private Lives” as the daughter of a family of cheaters. The role was a stark contrast to the roles she has played in the past. Cha Joo Eun in “Private Lives” is a bad girl who is not afraid of getting what she wants, even if it means breaking some (minor) laws. It was refreshing to see Seohyun in that kind of role when she really lost her good image of a girl. The transformation impressed viewers and only showed her maturity as an actress. I look forward to seeing her in roles like this one!
6. Ong Seong Wu
Ong Seong Wu has only appeared in two K-dramas and one film so far, but his acting career looks promising. Ong Seong Wu was recognized for his acting skills in a short film and his debut role in “Moments from 18Just solidified the fact that he has natural talent. Last year he starred in More Than Friends as Lee Soo, a boy who has loved the same woman since high school. 10 years later the two meet again and Lee Soo is still in love with them. The love and affection this character shows for the girl he loves is immense, and Ong Seong Wu was able to portray it perfectly.

7. Kwon Nara
Kwon Nara was originally part of the girls group Hello Venus, but after they split up last year, she has devoted herself fully to acting. This year she starred in the hit JTBC drama “Itaewon Class” and will also appear in another drama this month called “Secret Royal Inspector”. Kwon Nara as Oh Soo Ah in the “Itaewon Class” put the audience on a roller coaster ride of emotions, as she could convey sympathy, anger, remorse and joy for her character. The complexity of her character couldn’t be easy to depict, but Kwon Nara showed her wide range of emotions so easily!
8. Lee Jin Hyuk
This was a big year for Lee Jin Hyuk as he made his debut in the K-drama world through the MBC series. “Find me in your memory. “He played the romantic and uncomplicated Jo Il Kwon, with whom he fell head over heels Kim Seul Gi. The role of Il Kwon suited him perfectly and it was almost impossible to tell that it was his debut. There are only more options, as he has already confirmed that he will play next year in another drama entitled “Dear M.” We look forward to seeing his infectious smile on the small screen again!

9. Kim Myung Soo (L)
Kim Myung Soo (L) played in “Miau, the secret boy” As Hong Jo, a cat who becomes human when with the woman he loves. The premise is unique. How should someone act like a cat? Yet Myung Soo was able to overcome this and really prove that he can take on any challenge when it comes to acting. He made the audience sympathize and have compassion for his character, who is so alone in the world. Myung Soo’s talent in this particular drama lies in his innocent but loving gaze, as well as the spark of jealousy he gets when the woman he loves talks to other men. And seeing him in this cozy knit sweater throughout the series is a huge bonus. it really makes you want to cuddle with him to keep warm!

Taecyeon can be considered an OG idol as he is part of the 2PM group. In his long idol career, Taecyeon has starred in many K-dramas, films, and variety shows. His gift lies in taking on roles that are not so conventional and have unique storylines. If you look at his character’s story, he plays an aspiring singer, an exorcist, and a detective. Last year in “The game: Towards zeroHe played Tae Pyeong, a character who has the ability to see someone die just by looking into their eyes. Taecyeon’s versatility in choosing roles has made him an entertaining actor.

11. Min Hyun
Minhyun is a member of the K-pop group NU’EST and also a former member of the group Wanna One. He already had a role in a movie in 2016, but the past year was monumental for him in his acting career as he was able to star in Go Eun Taek in JTBCs “Live on. “Although the drama is still on the air, Minhyun is already showing glimpses of his natural talent. One scene where fans passed out was when he confessed his feelings to the girl he liked. The straightforwardness and conviction with which he was conveyed his feelings, was believable enough and enough to make your heart beat faster. We look forward to seeing more of you in the future, Minhyun!
