CL has returned with her singles HWA and 5 STAR and talked about it in an interview 2NE1 and BTS.

She commented:

We used to share roles, but now I have to do them on my own so I had to relearn everything first. There are many difficulties because I have to fill in the gaps

First of all, I want to learn different things, and to do that I have to face things directly. I don’t think I can do that when I join an agency

It’s a way of expressing myself, and it’s my language too. I am not good at expressing myself in words because I have too many thoughts. However, I am confident that I can express myself on stage

People used to cheer us on together, but now that we’re doing solo activities we tend to cheer each other on. We support each other a lot and even if we don’t say anything in particular, it helps to be next to each other. They are my closest friends so I’m glad we are together

I was very happy when I saw the BTS album. In my childhood memory there was no Asian pop star. We should express our own culture, but we were just copying other people’s culture. I thought it would be nice to have someone to represent us

That’s why I started doing activities abroad. Now Asian and Korean singers are starting to gain popularity. It’s really easy to express and promote culture in the music industry these days.

This is the case with BTS. The boundaries have become much more blurred. Now our music is associated with pop music instead of K-pop. I will also work hard to do my part. I know it might not be easy, but it’s definitely something amazing
