Lee Je Hoon and Shin Hye sun The new film “Collectors” got off to a good start at the Korean box office!
On the morning of November 16, the Korean Film Council announced that Collectors had officially exceeded 1 million moviegoers. According to calculations by the Korean Film Council, “Collectors” drew a total of 103,345 moviegoers on November 15 alone, bringing the film to a total of 1,001,234 moviegoers in the first 12 days after its release.
“Collectors,” released November 4th, is a heist film starring Lee Je Hoon as the talented grave robber and Shin Hye Sun as the elite curator in the ancient art world. The film also plays the lead role I won, hee as an “expert with a shovel” and Jo woo jin as a professor who specializes in digging up murals in ancient graves.
Though cinemas have attracted far fewer people since Korea’s reintroduction of stricter social distancing guidelines in August, the positive word of mouth has helped keep box office “collectors” popular: the film did particularly well on its release, particularly on the second weekend of the year .
