The cast of “Sweet Home” spoke to Elle Korea about participating in the project!
The Netflix original series “Sweet Home” is based on a successful Webtoon and is about a lonely student named Cha Hyun Soo (Song Kang) who is moving into a new home after losing his family in a tragic accident. There he is faced with a series of shocking and terrifying events when people suddenly turn into monsters around him.
The stars of the Song Kang show, Lee Jin Wook, Lee Si Young, and Lee Do Hyun posed for a picture with Elle Korea. In an interview with the magazine, Song Kang said, “Every moment I tried to think from the perspective of Cha Hyun Soo.” He added, “As I kept working to bring out the evilest and darkest appearance, my range of emotions became deeper.”
Lee Do Hyun also shared that the process of understanding his character is not easy. “I relaxed when director Lee Eung Bok said to me, ‘Don’t be afraid,'” he said, conveying his thanks to the director.
Lee Jin Wook, who has 15 years of acting experience, recorded “Sweet Home” at his first drama with monsters. “That role itself was a big challenge,” he said. “I think there is a feeling you wouldn’t expect when you think of the name ‘Lee Jin Wook’.”
After all, Lee Si Young is the only one of the stars to play a role that wasn’t in the original Webtoon, playing former firefighter Seo Yi Kyung. “It’s an honor and I was touched,” she said. “When Seo Yi Kyung drives the fire truck, I wanted to show determination and tenacity in the way Charlize Theron drives the combat vehicle.”
“Sweet Home” was released on December 18th. The full picture and interview of the stars with Elle Korea can be found in the January issue of the magazine.
