The Produce X 101 series election rigging case will be referred to the Supreme Court for a final verdict.
The Seoul Supreme Court said on November 26 that prosecutors and the defendants, including Ahn Joon Young, Kim Yong Bum, and two entertainment agency representatives, objected to the appeal ruling that passed this month. They filed appeals and took the case to the Supreme Court.
After the finale of “Produce X 101” in July 2019, the show came under fire obvious falsification of the paid audience votes that determined the final group formation. An investigation found evidence of election rigging in each of the four seasons of the show, which aired in 2016.

This means that they will only serve their sentences if they commit another crime during their probationary period.
