In a recent interview with Xportsnews, ACE’s Chan spoke about his experience on Twenty Twenty, his friendship with the cast, and how the members helped him prepare for the role!
“Twenty Twenty”, a love drama by the makers of the successful “A-TEEN” series, tells the story of six young people who come of age and deal with the difficult issues of adulthood. Chan showed his adorable charm through the role of Son Bo Hyun and delighted viewers with his enthusiastic affection for Baek Ye Eun (Chae Won Bin).
Chan began the interview by thanking everyone who watched the drama and said, “The drama ended with a lot of love and support from the audience. Thank you for all of your love and attention. I was very happy thanks to Bo Hyun and the audience too. ”
After making his ACE debut in 2017, “Twenty Twenty” gave Chan his first chance to try acting. While describing how he was preparing for his role, Chan said that since he lacked the experience of correctly interpreting his character, he read the script over and over until he understood his character. He continued, “I’ve worked hard to fully make the character’s speech and actions mine.”
Chan remembered his first day of shooting and described how nervous he was when he said, “I don’t even remember what I did that day.” He thanked the staff and the people around him for complimenting his hard work, saying, “Thanks to them, the more I acted, the less nervous I got, and I think I got to enjoy it.”
Chan also revealed that the other members of ACE played an important role in his preparations. “I worked very hard and received help from many people to make my character’s crafty personality seem natural,” he said. “Even in the middle of their busy schedule, the other members helped me read through my script and complimented me after seeing my scenes. You have been a great source of strength for me. ”
Chan then spoke with about his friendship UP10TION‘s Kim woo seok and Jin Ho Eun, who plays his friends and colleagues in the drama. “It felt like we were friends from the start,” he revealed. “We talked a lot about music and acting. Since we’re the same age, we all had a lot of fun. As the drama progressed, we felt more and more like longtime friends. ”
Although he’s currently one of the main singers on ACE, Chan laughed a lot with his deaf mute character and also threw a curveball with an impressive rap performance in the last episode.
Chan noticed that it was a new challenge for him to be able to show so many different sides of himself musically. “Rapping wasn’t easy,” he admitted before continuing with a laugh. “I worked really hard to prepare for what reminded me when I was an intern.”
Chan said of viewing his rap performance as Son Bo Hyun, “I felt like it wasn’t me. If it were me, I would be singing on this stage, so looking at Son Bo Hyun felt like looking at a completely different person. ”
Summing up his first acting experience, Chan said, “It was a really meaningful time for me to meet such a good character in such a good production. During this time, I was able to better understand the appeal of acting. ”
Chan continued to emphasize his newfound appreciation for action when he concluded, “If I get the chance, I want to take the opportunity to try another role. Since my fans Choice enjoy watching me play, I want to show them even more different sides of myself. I find acting fascinating. ”
