Kim Myung Soo spoke about his new character Sung Yi Kyum in the upcoming KBS drama “Secret Royal Inspector” (literal title).
Secret Royal Inspector is a Joseon Dynasty comic mystery drama starring Kim Myung Soo as Sung Yi Kyum, a secret royal inspector who travels undercover to the provinces to hear people’s stories To expose corruption and deliver justice.
Sung Yi Kyum is a rookie Secret Royal Inspector who led an exciting double life as an officer and gamer. Both passionate and clumsy, he will do anything to catch corrupt government officials and bring justice to the people.
Kim Myung Soo talked about how he is becoming more and more like Sung Yi Kyum. I shared: “I try to understand my character and portray him faithfully. When i wear Hanbok (Korean traditional clothing) Now I automatically put my hands behind my back and concentrate on my tasks. Those kinds of traits are similar to my character and it makes me realize, ‘Wow, I became Sung Yi Kyum.’ ”
Kim Myung Soo summed up Sung Yi Kyum in three words: pure, compassionate and just. These are the character traits that will help Sung Yi Kyum achieve peace and justice as he experiences amazing growth on his journey as a secret royal inspector.
